Sleep Enhancer

For sleep problems, I take a “super magnesium” every night before sleep. Super magnesium here means magnesium Supplements that contain several types of magnesium. The one I started taking 2 years ago is Magwell, which includes magnesium, magnesium citrate, magnesium glycinate, and magnesium maleate. (Other brands include up to 10 types of magnesium.)

I had taken cal-mag supplements for years, and they had not produced good results.

I take 2 - 113 mg Magwells each night before bed. Magnesium works well when we take calcium, but not at the same time. I take 1200 mg of calcium in the morning. Both these supplements include 1000 IU of vitamin D3. Recent studies have found that 2000 IU of D3 daily is not too much. Taking these has improved my sleeping considerably. Taking too much D3 counteracts the relaxing effects of magnesium.

Some have claimed that most Americans are deficient in magnesium, perhaps because our soil is deficient in minerals as compared to the farming soil and practices of 100 years ago.
